Welcome to my Highland Homestead!
Hi, I’m Halla! I’m so glad you are here! This blog is a place for me to share my highland homestead lifestyle, my favorite from-scratch recipes, food preservation, and SO much more! If you are a beginner in homesteading, please follow along! This is the place you can come to learn about it all!
I consider myself a modern highland homesteader. My homestead is at 4100 feet in elevation, on 150 acres in the PNW. I am a stay at home mom to two young children, and I love to teach them how to live as self sustainable of a lifestyle as possible. We strive to grow and hunt for our own food, and forage for foods in the nearby forest! I also raise honeybees for honey, beeswax, propolis, and other amazing byproducts bees have to offer! Preserving foods I have harvested is also something I love to do!

If you want to learn more about living on a highland homestead, you’re in the right place! Sometimes it can be challenging to live at a higher elevation, but I’m here to show you it can be done!
I have been growing a vegetable garden, beekeeping, and many other things at a high elevation. This blog is a space for sharing knowledge, and empowering others to learn how to do the things they love!
So, whether you’re an experienced homesteader, someone who is just learning about it, or you have never even heard of it, I encourage you to check out the blog and see what you can learn! I have an array of from-scratch recipes, growing in colder climates, beekeeping, raising farm animals, and so much more!
